Primavera Cybistax donnell-smithii
LUMBER FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
According to William Lincoln, author of World Woods in Color, the sap in primavera rises and falls with the moon rather than with the seasons, as is normal. It has a high luster, and though the grain can be irregular and interlocking, it is relatively easy to work. However, the tree should be felled in the "dark of the moon," as the sap drops during this phase, and less will then seep from the end-grain and attract insects. A medium yellow-tan in color, primavera has intriguing patterning but is not durable.
