Queensland Walnut Endiandra palmerstonii

PRETEND WALNUT WITH INFERIOR STRIPES
Though it is not a true walnut, Queensland walnut has distinctive stripes that shimmer intriguingly, with the paler bands almost silvery beside the dark brown streaks. The lumber is often abrasive and can dull tool edges quickly. It has interlocking grain, making it difficult to work, and it does not season easily. In its favor, Queensland walnut finishes to a rich brown color. It is popular for furniture making and interior trim.
